s. m, ness, insanity; a plant (Gentiana Kurroo, Nat. Ord. Gentianaceæ,) which has a handsome blue flower (Kamal phull.) It is common on rather sunny slopes in many places in the Punjab Himalaya. Locally its root is used as a tonic and febrifuge, and given to cattle in inflammations. It is exported to the plains in some quantity, it constitutes part of the medicinal karrú:—kamal puṉá, s. m.
