s. f. pl. kalamáṇ, Corrupted from the Arabic word Qalm. A pen, a reed pen to write with; a graft, cuttings of trees for planting; a wedge; a reddish wood of which combs are made:—kalamáṇ, s. m. The upper part of the beard tapering to a point:—kalamáṇ lagáuṉíáṇ, v. a. To set down slips or cuttings:—kalam banáuṉí, v. a. To mend a pen:—kalam chaláuṉí, wagáuṉí, v. a.
