s. f, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Kumár. Virginity (used only in composition):—kuár bhanṉá, v. n. To deprive of virginity (lawfully or otherwise), to deflour:—kuár gaṇdal, s. f. A medicinal plant (Aloe perfoliata, A. Indica, Nat. Ord. Liliaceæ) occasionally cultivated by faqírs throughout the Punjab plains. The pulp of the leaves (after removing their skin) is used medicinally in spleen diseases, rheumatism, caries and cough. It is also applied to boils and is used in veterinary medicine. A. Indica is a powerful ecbolic. Its fibres are capable of good use for mattings:—kuárpuṉá, s. m. Virginity.
