s. m. (M.), ) The sole of a plough (it consists of a log of wood, thick at one end and narrowing to a point at the other which is shod with an iron share called phálá); a kind of net fastened inside a dome-shaped frame of wood. It is used in shallow water. The fisherman jams the frame to the bottom of the water and then lets the net fall, and so secures whatever fish are within the frame;—kuṛ jáṉá, v. n. To bend down from excessive dryness.
