s. f, kind of grass (Poa. cynosuroides, Eragrostis cynosuroides, Nat. Ord. Gramineæ), sacred grass. It is esteemed holy, is strewed upon the altar or held by the Brahmins in their hands whilst repeating their formulæ. It is also given at bathing places to pilgrims.
