s. m, og; a wooden stopper used to stop the chahakklí of the Persian wheel; met. a slave, a wicked person, a bastard; the spring of a gun-lock:—kutte khassí, s. f. Menial service:—kutte dá magj kháṉá, v. n. lit. To eat a dog's brain; to jabber away (bark incessantly):—kutte dí maut marná, v. n. To die the death of a dog; to die a miserable or disgraceful death:—halká kuttá, halkáyá kuttá, s. m. A mad dog:—kuttá mutár, s. m. (Poṭ.) A mushroom; i. q. Padd baheṛá:—kuttá ráj bahálíye chakkí chaṭṭaṉ já. If a dog is set on a throne he goes off to lick the handmill.—Prov. used to show that if a low person obtains a high position, he acts meanly.
