s. f, The downy substance on plants, pubescence; the back:—kaṇḍ bhannaṉí, v. n. lit. To break the back; to defeat one:—kaṇḍ láh suṭṭṉí, v. a. To cause to fall pubescence; met. to defeat one, to discourage:—kaṇḍ latthṉí, v. n. To be fallen down (pubescence); met. to be discouraged, to be defeated:—kaṇḍ pichchhoṇ pádsháháṇ de gile thíṇdin.
