s. m, The name of a musical mode;—a. Six:—khaṭ shástar, darshaṉ, s. m. The six philosophical books or systems of philosophy of the Hindus. These are—1. Púrvá-mimáṇsá, commonly called Mimáṇsá, of Jaimani; 2. Uttrá-mimáṇsá, usually known as Vedanta of Badarayana, or Vyasa; 3. Nyaya of Gotama; 4. Vaiseshika of Kanada; 5. Sánkhya of Kapila; 6. Yágá of Patanjali.
