s. m, Lord, prince, a Muhammadan title used chiefly by Patháns, the same as Kháṇ; eating; (corrupted from the Persian word Kán.) a mine:—kháṉ páṉ, s. m. Allowance:—kháṉ píṉ, s. m. Eating and drinking; met. eating (flesh) and drinking (wine):—kháṉ piṉ núṇ chaṇgge bhalle, kám káj núṇ ḍore. Well enough to eat and drink, but deaf to work.
