s. m. f, piece, a patch, a joining, a splicing; a knot; a bundle of money; the root of turmeric; a clove of garlic; a knotted thread used to announce the date of a wedding; fixing the day for a wedding:—gaṭṭh deṉí, v. n. To knot:—gaṭṭh katarní, v. n. To pick a pocket:—gaṭṭh páuṉí, v. a. To fix the day for a wedding:—gaṭṭh tupp, s. f. See gaṇḍh tupp in Gaṇḍh; i. q. Gaṇḍh.
