s. m, Dust; a fool, a blockhead:—ghaṭṭá chháṉ de phirná or chhánṉá, v. a. lit. To sift dust; to wander about; to labour or exert one's self to no purpose; to beat the air:—ghússe ghaṭṭá, s. m. lit. The dust of pudendum mulieris; a fool, a blockhead, an idiot person, (abusive language):—sir te ghaṭṭá páuṉá, v. a. lit. To put dust on the head; met. to injure the reputation (of one's self or one's parents) by ill-conduct:—ghaṭṭá uḍáuṉá uḍáuṇde phirná, v. n. a. lit. To throw dust; met. to wander about, to saunter idly; to disgrace, to defame;—ghaṭṭá uḍḍṉá, v. n. lit. To blow dust or dust storm; to be ruined; to be disgraced.
