s. m, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Jawás. Camel-thorn (Alhagi Maurorum). It is found most abundantly in the waste and fallow lands subject to inundation from the rivers:—uṭh kanakáṇ chhoṛíe wat jawáṇháṇ khá. If you turn a camel into wheat he will leave it and eat thorns.—Prov; i. q. Jawáháṇ.
