s. m, Corrupted from the Persian word Zahr. Poison:—jaharbád, s. m. A dangerous disease in horses and elephants in which the yard and testicles of the animals become suddenly swollen and violently inflamed:—jahir kháṉá, v. n. To take poison:—jahir laggṉá, v. n. To be hateful like poison:—jahir mauhrá, s. m. Bezoar, an antidote to poison.
