s. m, The name of a tree; also its fruit (Cerasus Cornuta, Nat. Ord. Rosaceæ. Sizygium Zambolanum);—Corrupted from the Arabic word Zámaṉ. A small piece of wood connecting the two tubes of a huqqá; a surety, a security; rennet:—jámaṉ, deṉá, v. n. To give a surety:—jámaṉ hoṉá, v. n. To be surety for another, to give or stand bail:—jámaṉ táhad, s. m. f. See Jámaṉí.
