JUGG

s. m, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Yuga. An epoch, an era, a period especially one of the four great periods mentioned in the Hindu Shastars, i. e., Satjugg, Dawápar, Tretá, Kaljugg. Each of the Juggs comprises an age of the world. Each is preceded by a period called Saṇdhyá, "twilight" and followed by Saṇdhyansá "a portion of twilight" The first three have now elapsed. The Juggs correspond to the Golden, Silver, Copper and Iron ages:—jugg jugg, ad. Always, for ever:—jugg jugg jí, juggíṇ, jí. Live, forever! live from age to age!
