s. f, Corrupted from the Hindí word Júlá. A shoe, slippers, a pair of shoes:—cháṇdí dí juttí mární, v. n. lit. To beat with a silver shoe; to give a bribe in cash:—juttíáṇ challṉíáṇ, v. n. To have a fight with shoes:—juttíáṇ kháṉá, v. n. To get a shoe beating; to suffer humiliation:—juttíáṇ kháṇde phirṉá, v. n. To wander about, dishonoured:—juttíáṇ márníáṇ, v. n. To give one a shoe beating; to taunt:—juttíáṇ siddhíáṇ karníán, v. a. lit. To take charge of one's shoes; to do menial service:—juttí te juttí chaṛhṉá, v. n. lit. To come one shoe on the other; it is considered an omen of impending journey:—juttí uṭṭháuṉá, v. a. To take charge of one's shoe: to be ready to beat one with shoes:—merá sir tuháḍíáṇ juttíáṇ. Your shoes on my head, i. e., beat me with your shoes if I am in fault:—uhdá sir uhdíáṇ juttíáṇ. His own head (beaten) with his own shoes, i. e., the engineering hoist with his own petard.—Prov.
