s. m, straggling large shrub (Sesbania Ӕgyptiaca), commonly cultivated in gardens as a hedge, and for its bunches of flowers, parti-coloured, yellow, and occasionally white. It is a ready and quick grower and its wood is of no use. The seeds are officinal, being applied in ointment for eruptions, for which also the juice of the bark is given internally.
