s. m, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Jhaṭákarakh. A sudden shake, a jerk; cutting off the head of an animal at a stroke with a sword, the meat of such an animal which alone is lawful for Sikhs or Rajputs:—jhaṭká karná, v. a. To decapitate at a stroke (as a goat offered in a sacrifice or killed for eating):—jhaṭká láuṉá, márná, v. n. To shake, to jerk.
