s. f, wide-mouthed round bottomed earthen pot, these are the vessels tied on to the wheel of a Persian well; a small round gourd (Citrulbus vulgaris var fistulosus, Nat. Ord. Cucurbitaceæ) commonly cultivated near Multan and Lahore. It is sown about April and ripens in July, and is cooked as a gourd, and has a pleasant flavour when young, but the seeds are troublesome as it gets old.
