s. f, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Dáy. A bride's portion, a dowry, a property that a bride takes to her husband's house:—dáj dahej, dáj dauṉ, s. f. The same as Dáj:—chuṇdhí kuṛí te paṇj úṭh dáj. A blear-eyed bride and five camels for a dowry; i. q. Dahej.
