s. m, Forsaking, relinquishing, desertion; the Sweet bay tree or its bark Laurus nobilis, Nat. Ord. Lauraceæ:—taj patt, s. m. The leaf of the bay tree used as a medicine and as a condiment:—taj kalmí, s. f. The bark of Cinnamomum albiflorum, Nat. Ord. Lauraceæ not uncommon in the Himalaya. Its timber does not appear to be valued. The bark is given for gonorrhœa, and the leaves are used in rheumatism, as a stimulant:—táj bádsháhí, s. m. Astragulus hamatus, Nat. Ord. Leguminosæ small yellowish curved legumes, deeply furrowed, very efficacious in coughs and rheumatism:—táj khurus, s. m. Amaranthus cruentus, Nat. Ord. Amarantaceæ used as a diuretic and depurant.
