NARAIṈ

s. m, Corrupted from the Sanskrit word Naráyana. God (i. e., Holy one); an epithet of Vishnu, considered as the Deity who was before all worlds. The divine imperishable spirit pervading the Universe:—sat náraiṉ, s. m. lit. The true God:—sat náraíṉ dí kathá, s. f. The story which tells of the fast obligatory on Hindus:—sat náraiṉ dá wart, s. m. A monthly fast observed by Hindus on the day of full moon:—náraiṉ jáṉe. God knows.
