s. m, lotus (Nymphæa alba, N. cærulea, N. pubiseens, N. Lotus, N. stellata, Nat. Ord. Nymphæaceæ.) which is used medicinally, being considered febrifuge and cooling. An infusion of the flower and fruit is given in diarrhœa and as a diaphoretic. The edible lotus N. edulis:—nílofar dá sharbat, s. m. The sharbat of Nílofar.
