s. m, kedness, shame; a tree (Cornus macrophylia, Nat. Ord. Corneœ) which grows to a considerable size, and is common in many parts of the Panjab Himalaya up to near the Indus. Its wood is used for making gunpowder charcoal, goats feed on its leaves, and the people are stated to eat the fruit;—a. Poor, penniless; shameless, impudent:—naṇg dhaṛall, a. Poor, penniless, naked, having nothing:—naṇg dhaṛaṇg, naṇg dharaṇggá, a. Naked, stark-naked:—naṇg namús, s. m. Honour, esteem.
