s. f. (M.), ) a hole in the cartilage of the nose whether of man or animal:—natth páuṉá, páuṉí, v. a. To wear a nose-ring; to run a rope through the hole in an animal's nose:—natth laiṉá, v. a. See Natthṉá:—uh phire natth ghaṛáwaṉ núṇ, uh nakk kapan kúṇ tiyáre! or uh natth ghaṛáwaṉ núṇ phire, uh nakk wadháṉ núṇ phire. She is going about to get a nose ring made and he is prepared to cut off her nose:—Prov. used to show contrary aim and objects of two persons.
