s. m, ee (Populus Alba, Nat, Ord. Salicaceæ) which grows wild to a considerable size in parts of the basins of the Jhelum and Chenab, and is occasional on the Sutlej. It is commonly planted at Peshawar, and grows at Lahore. It is propagated by cuttings. The timber is white and soft, but not strong and durable, and is not valued.
