PASAM

s. f, Corrupted from the Persian word Pashm. A fine kind of hair produced by the Thibetan goat; hair. (The finest varieties come from Turfan and Changthan); a thing of no moment; the pubic hair of either sex:—pasam barábar samjhṉá, v. a. To despise:—pasam dár, a. Woollen, woolly, having shaggy hair, having a hairy nap:—pasam te márná, v. n. To be perfectly contented and independent to despise, to disregard:—pasam ná ukkhaṛṉí, v. a. To suffer nothing from the enmity of another, lit. not to have a single pubic hair uprooted, a phrase of greatest contempt for an adversary.
