s. m, Brahman who directs the weddings or other ceremonies of a family; a school master, a teacher of arithmetic; an astrologer:—tittar paṇgí paí; pádhá puchchhaṉ kiyuṇ gaí. A partridge's wing appeared, why go to consult the astrologer.—Prov. shows that when many clouds come, no one need go to the astrologer to ask about the weather; i. q. Páṇdhá.
