s. m, The philosopher's stone, a touchstone for gems; Persia; a tree, see Jammú;—a. Well-developed, perfect, sound; robust, strong:—páras pípal, s. m. A tree (Thespesia populnea, Nat. Ord. Malvaceæ) only two specimens are known to grow in the Panjab, at Khangarh in the Muzaffargarh district. They were raised from seed brought from the south by a fakír about sixty-five years ago; their seed does not ripen. The Hindus carry off their leaves to be used in pújá at deaths.
