m, Corrupted from the Persian word Pudínah. A plant (Mentha incana, M viridis, M. sativa, Nat. Ord Labiatæ), cultivated in the plains, and its leaves are used medicinally, as an astringent and it is largely used as chaṭṉí:—paháṛí púdṉá, s. m. Mentha viridis, Nat. Ord. Labiatæ, cultivated in gardens in the plains and sold by drug sellers as a stimulant and given in cholera.
