MÁṆH

s. m, kind of grain (Phaseolus radiatus, P. Roxburghii, Nat. Ord. Leguminosæ) of which an edible pulse is made, (i. e. uṛd); the same as Mágh (from the middle of January to the middle of February);—prep. (M) In (used in poetry):—je wasse Phaggan Máṇheṇ táṇ ann ná máwe egáheṇ; je wasse Phaggan Chetar táṇ ann ná máwe khetár. If it rains in Phaggan and Máṇh, the grain will not find room in the straw; if it rains in Phaggan and Chetar, the grain will not find room in the field:—máṇh nál mircháṇ, sass kanúṇ chorí. Give me Capsicums in exchange for my pulse, I have stolen it from my mother-in-law.—Prov.
