s. m. (M.), ) the wall on which the upper-cross bar of the Persian wheel rests; a platform on which to sleep; a fractional number three quarters. It differs from pauṉáṇ which also means one quarter less, by being used only with units, while pauṉáṇ is used with the other numbers, as munnáṇ ser, a quarter less than one seer, munnáṇ kaṭorá, a kaṭorá three quarter filled but pauṉeṇ dú ser, a quarter less than two seers:—baddhá lakk Aroṛiáṇ munnáṇ koh Lahore. When Aroṛás gird up their loins they make the distances to Lahore only by three quarters of a kos.—Prov.
