It differs from pauṉáṇ which also means one quarter less, by being used only with units, while pauṉáṇ is used with the other numbers, as munnáṇ ser, a quarter less than one seer, munnáṇ kaṭorá, a kaṭorá three quarter filled but pauṉeṇ dú ser, a quarter less than two seers:—baddhá lakk Aroṛiáṇ munnáṇ koh Lahore. When Aroṛás gird up their loins they make the distances to Lahore only by three quarters of a kos.—Prov.
