s. f, The Lawsonia inermis, Nat. Ord. Lythraceæ. Used to dye the hands and feet of a red colour, also as an hair dye. Medicinally it is considered a depurative, and is used in skin diseases. The mehṇdí of Gujranwala is most famed; i. q. Maiṇdhí, Mahiṇdí which see.
