s. m, small tree (Pyrus Kumaonensis, P. Aria, Nat. Ord. Rosaceæ) common in many parts of the Panjab Himalaya up to the Indus. The wild pear, the smallish fruit ripens about October and looks well, but is very indifferent eating even when half rotten, in which state it is generally consumed by the people.
