Brassica Juncea (Mustard) ਇਹ ਖਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਟਪਟੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚਟਨੀ ਅਚਾਰ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੀਦੀ ਹੈ. ਰਾਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ. ਦੇਖੋ, ਰਾਈ ਲੂਣ ਵਾਰਨਾ। ੨. ਵਿ- ਤਨਿਕ. ਥੋੜਾ. "ਮਨੁ ਟਿਕਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਰਾਈ." s. f, ustard (Brassia campestris, Nat. Ord. Cruciferæ) which is much less extensively cultivated in the plains than the sarhoṇ which it resembles. Its somewhat acrid oil is burned, used for inunction and occasionaly employed in cooking. Its seeds are often added to pickles. The seeds are also used medicinally. The best kinds of mustard are the product of Sinapis alba, S. nigra, S. ramosa, Nat. Ord. Cruciferæ. Also see Gajpípal:—ráí Banársí, s. f. See Sarhoṇ:—paṇd ráí, s. f. See Palúdar.
