s. m, fibre, a stringy particle (meat, fruit); Coryza—resedár. a. Fibrous, stringy:—resá khatmí, s. f. The root of the gul khairá, or hollyhock (Althaæa rosea, Nat. Ord. Molvaceæ) used medicinally and commonly grown as a garden flower. Its seeds are used medicinally being mucilaginous and demulcent, diuretic and febrifuge, and the flowers are reckoned cooling and diuretic and are given in rheumatism. The root is considered astringent and given in fever and dysentery:—resh bar, s. m. The serial suckers of the Ficus Indica Banyan; also see Sauṇchal.
