ROGAN

s. m, Corrupted from the Persian word Rogan. Varnish; grease, fat; clarified butter:—rogan badám, s. m. Almond oil:—rogan baiz murgh, s. m. Oil obtained by dry distillation of hen's eggs used in native medicines:—rogan bírbahuṭí, chíchwahuṭí, s. m. Oil of the red velvet insect that appears in the rains. The oil is used medicinally as an irritant and besicant:—rogan gul, s. m. Rose scented oil:—rogan majmúá, s. m. Oil scented with a combination of scents:—rogan mom, s. m. A strong smelling oil; wax oil. The odour is that of a candle just blown out:—rogan motíá, rogan chambelí, s. m. Jessamine oil:—rogan pín, s. m. Pelican oil, see under Pín:—rogan safed, s. m.
