LAMBÁ

a.; s. m, Long, extended, protracted, tall; a tall man:—lambá chauṛá, a. Long and wide:—lambá safar, s. m. A long journey:—lambá karná, v. a. To lengthen, to extend; to permit to go, to dismiss:—lambá, lambe hoṉá, v. n. To be off, to go away; a species of grass (Aristida depressa, A. setacea, Nat. Ord. Gramineæ) is very common in many dry parts of the central and western Panjab and Trans-Indus. It is said to be a favourite food of cattle.
