s. f, The Acorus calamus, Nat. Ord. Acoraceæ. Imported from Cashmere, and used in a variety of nervous and other diseases. It is a useful aromatic tonic. In England it is used to give an aromatic flavour to gin and certain beers also in making aromatic vinegar.
