s. f, ght:—shab bú, s. f. Mathiola annua, Nat. Ord. Cruciferæ, cultivated in gardens of Europeans in the Punjab:—Shabrát, s. f. A Muhammadan festival, held on the eve of the 14th of Shábán, celebrated with prayers, feastings, illuminations, and fire works. Lamps are lighted and prayer offered up for the souls of the deceased. The night of record, on which men's lives and fortunes during the coming year are said to be registered in heaven:—shab deg, s. f. A dish of meat and turnips cooked all night:—shab sahádat, s. m. The night of the 10th Muharram, on which Husaiṉ was slain:—shab kadar, s. m. (lit. the night of power or dignity.) The night of the second of Ramzán on which Quran is said to have descended from heaven:—shabrátí, a. Belonging to Shabrát, born in the month of Shabrát or Shabán.
