s. f, Dignity, pomp, state, condition, lustre, radiance; glory of God:—sháṉ Aláhí, Khudá, s. m. The glorious works of God:—sháṉ dár, a. Splendid, grand; glorious, of rank and dignity:—sháṉ gumáṉ, s. m., a. Thought, conception; elevated; notorious:—sháṉ márí jáṉí, v. n. To be derogatory to one's honour, to detract from one's dignity:—sháṉ nál rahiṉá, v. n. To live in great splendour:—sháṉ púrṉí, v. n. To be in pomp and splendour:—sháṉ wikháuṉí, v. a. To show off, to make a display.
