s. m, The sacred books of the Hindus, the Hindu scriptures, any sacred book of divine or standard authority, fourteen to eighteen kinds are enumerated, a treatise, code:—shástar ansár, s. m. According to the Shástarás:—Dharam shástar, s. m. The Hindu civil and ecclesiastical code:—khaṭ shástar, s. m. The six Shástarás or schools of philosophy, i. e., Niyáe, Visheshak, Mimáṇsá, Vedáṇt, Sháṇkhyá, Pataṇjlí.
