SAMÁ

s. m, Time, period, season, good harvest; opportunity; abundance of the necessaries of life, cheapness; the name of an insect; a scene; a small tree (Glochidion sp., Nat. Ord. Euphorbiaceæ,) not uncommon in the Punjab Siwalik tract up to near the Indus. The wood is only used as fuel, the bark is employed for tanning. Also the same as Samúká which see;—samá bannhṉá, v. a. To make a picture; to represent; to attain; to produce harmony:—maiṇghá samá, s. m. A dear season, dearth:—sastá samá, s. m. A season of plenty.
