s. f, Corrupted from the Persian word Sarishtah. A thread, a series, connection, affinity; a rule, order, custom:—saristedár, s. m. A public officer whose business it is to keep the records of a Court, to read petitions; a head clerk:—saristedárí, s. f. The office of a Saristedár; relatives, (a corruption of Rishtedárí).
