s. m, plant (Phytolacca decandra, Nat. Ord. Phytolaccaceæ) not uncommon in the Punjab Himalayas. The fruit is said to be occasionally eaten, and is stated to produce cerebral symptoms. The leaves are in some places eaten as a vegetable in curries.
