s. m. (M.), ) A tribe of Muhammadan Jáṭs, who were originally Rájpúts. In A. D. 750 they expelled the first Arab invaders from Sindh and Multan, and furnished the country with a dynasty which reigned till the end of the twelfth century, when it was expelled by the Sammás, another Rájput tribe.
