s. m, plant (Blitum virgatum, Nat. Ord. Salsolaceæ) common wild at several places in the Jhelum and Chenab and Ravi basins. The extremely insipid fruit is sometimes mistaken by Europeans for a kind of strawberry, which it much resembles.
