s. f, herb. (Lepidium sativum, Nat. Ord. Cruciferæ) commonly cultivated in the plains, the leaves and seeds are pungent, and medicinally used. The seeds are given and applied as a lactagogue, and administered after being boiled with milk to cause abortion.
