SAUṆCHÍ
Meaning in English2
s. f, game which is very popular at fairs and merry meetings. It requires a large open space, in which the players assemble and form two rings. One man from the outer ring falls out, runs backwards and forwards, and is chased by one from the inner ring, till he evades him and returns to his ring, or his opponent gives in, or he is caught, when the same game is taken up by another set. The man chased may strike his opponent in the chest or trip him up to prevent being caught.
