s. m, White arsenic, arsenious acid:—bilaurí saṇkhíá, s. m. Vitreous arsenic. This soon becomes opaque when exposed to the air:—pílá saṇkhíá, s. m. Orpiment, yellow sulphide of arsenic. There are certain varieties known as haṛtál pílí, and tankí haṛtál or haṛtál warkí, shining or leafy orpiment:—siyáh, or kálá saṇkhíá, s. m. Black arsenic, it is very impure hence its dark colour, a very impure bisulphide hence its dark colour:—surkh or lál saṇkhíá, s. m. Realgar, or Bisulphide of arsenic, also known as mansil. Another form is naushádár káni, this is an artificial bisulphide and occurs in glossy brown lustrous fragments.
